ANOTHER PASSION FREE LET DOWN FOR "THE BIG SHOW"

Well readers, today marks another big let down for the over-promised performance by Mike Reeves and "The Big Show." Right off the bat, Mike Reeves began with a statement, "Rush Limbaugh was caught in another lie, and no one has answered why Sarah Palin can't answer who her favorite Founding Father is." To which there was no follow-up with what Limbaugh "lied" about, or whether Reeves pays attention to other news sources other than Bay News-9. Mike appears to be another colored individual- Red or Blue anyone?
The initial "topic" was the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that ruled, in a 5-4 vote, that McCain-Feingold was unconstitutional. A heavy fought case which pitted Pro-First Amendment versus Pro-Fairness jousters. I am for a more "pure" interpretation of our (United States) Bill of Rights- all of them. Nonetheless, the descision will be considered "Business As Usual" within the Beltway of D.C. All in all the immense controversial ruling was given about 10 - 15 minutes of "discussion" within the teaming of Mike Reeves, Jo Jo Walker, News Director Roger P. Schulman, and Senior News Reporter Shayna Lance.
"The Big Show," per their Standard Operating Procedure quickly blew through the Supreme Court ruling for another, more important topic, "Learning how to be Gay {Homosexual}." Courses are being taught by colleges around the nation. Therein, "students" are being shown how difficult and challenging it is to be homosexual in society. Is it really? Personally, I do not care what consenting adults do, as long as it is mutually agreed to, and historical laws of civilization aren't broken- no kids, or those who cannot defend themselves...and NO animals. Whatever one's views are on said topic, "The Big Show" opened-up their phone lines for two or three "positive" calls. Huh? Another puff piece (no pun intended), this time in callers vice the Tribune writers. Of course, the above two topics were sandwiched between lame parodies involving...you guessed it, "WKKK," and some poor imitation of Pro-Wrestlers. If I remember correctly, there were also "Schnitt-J" skits as well. Is this really what AM 820 WWBA Genesis Communication executives call "serving the community?" Again, WWBA community service is seen for what it is quickly becoming; vapid nonsense.
One bright spot within "The Big Show" once again belongs to Roger P. Schulman and Shayna Lance. They tag-teamed ABC News correspondant Matt Gutman after his return to Miami from covering the human catastrophe in Haiti. Through the Schulman-Lance interview, Gutman painted a perverse view of the horrific earthquake in Haiti- the poorer one was, the better they faired. Haiti is reportedly the "poorest country in the Western Hemisphere." This listener, and American man, was shocked to learn of Haiti's "title." From all accounts I have heard, even though the Haitians were rocked by a 7.0 quake-complete with aftershocks-many in Haiti were "happy" and positive. Their title of "poorest nation" must strictly focus on being compared to those who read "Vanity Fair," or those who receive free meals as part of their "jobs." Upbeat and happy after an immense horror falls upon you? Poor? The Haitians must be immensely wealthy and rich in spirit! Simply incredible. An excellent job by Schulman and Lance!
However nice of a job performed by the news side of "The Big Show," apparently Reeves and Walker didn't have other than that planned for today's show. The Haitian interview was repeated in the final hour of the show. Oops, almost forgot...more parodies in between commercials, professional performances by Roger Schulman and Shayna Lance, and the mission creep of sports in the "30 Second Sports Minute." Lest we forget, Reeves lamentations regarding his first trip to a "Monster truck Show." Mike Reeves forgets, back in his heyday, they were called, "Truck and Tractor Pulls;" sound Aruga horn. Perhaps, "The Big Show" could cover more important digs like the incredible testimony of the four heads of U.S. Counter-Terrorism testimonies in-front of Congress this past Wednesday, the $12 million plus shortfall of St. Petersburg, the $34 million "awarded" (rewarded?) to Castor for pier renovations, or even look into how much of a Traffic Cam fine is for Tampa paying the private firm for using their software and technical support?
Bring on the "Savage Nation."
